my wife and myself visited the Morris dancer in kelsall today(4/5/09)on the recommendation of friends. on arrival we were pleasantly greeted by mark who guided us through the range of local beers before showing us to our table. we both opted for the fresh home made beef and barley soup and then for the rump steak and the pork chops. the soup was extremely good,(for one who makes a lot of soup at home, i will be pinching a few ideas from this one). both of the mains were very good with the best chips ever. i must add that the service from both mark and mike was brilliant. the level of local knowledge about the food and beer was invaluable and i would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to all my friends without exception. this place is a must for a re-visit.

We took our extended family about two months ago and were pleasantly surprised at the extensive menu which was very good value for money. We had a great night and returned the next week! Off again tonight with friends and hope that we once again have a brill night.

Went to the Morris Dancer a couple of days ago after an absence of several years. It's better than ever and with the winter sale on even the 30 mile drive to get there wasn't a problem. I was only surprised that there were only about 3 or 4 tables taken on a Saturday lunch time. We might be going back this weekend to sample the roast Sunday lunch.

Had a bar meal. Lovely atmosphere, open fire, friendly staff. The food was delicious, especially the chocolate fondant dessert. A great meal that was very reasonably priced.
